This video was recorded in support of World Menopause Awareness Day 2021, I think it's a really important topic for all to understand. Yet in my personal and professional experience, it’s a really confusing and misunderstood one.

Peri-menopause was a topic that in my mid thirties would not have captured my attention. I was more concerned with whether each child was fed and in the right place, at the right time with the right kit.

My precious energy was consumed by running my business, maintaining and building friendships in a new country around a family as opposed to professional life and grabbling the snippets of spare time I could to jog, play tennis or ski.

Yet had I had stopped to observe, it may have saved me much stress and anxiety over the appearance of an array of random and frustrating symptoms. As well as enabled me to avert many a headache, mood swing, moment of anxiety, exhaustion or brain fog! Hot flashes? They came later but those other niggles became very apparent well before I turned 40.

Even if your doctor isn’t totally on board, there’s much that can be done to optimise your wellbeing through your mid thirties and beyond. I do hope this vlog offers hope, greater awareness and a starting place to feel empowered about your hormones and your entire health.

When our bodies and hormones are in harmony not chaos, rest assured you CAN keep enjoying and doing what you love. There is hope. There are solutions and this can be a beautiful easy transition for many women to a wisdom and knowing the other side.
