I aim to enable high achievers to perform at their best at work, home and play; released from pain, stress or health problems and engaged in happy, fulfilling lives, without burning out.
"If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got"
I'm the Founder and CEO of The Wellbeing Consultants which incorporates the Coaching, Physiotherapy and Pilates elements of my work. I love to empower and inspire others about the incredible workings of the human body and mind, with it's enormous ability to heal and grow. I passionately believe that this understanding enables us to grow into our full potential, without sacrificing what is truly important.
I'm fascinated by the science behind how we complex human beings work and what we can accomplish! A lifelong learner around human potential including: personal development, physical excellence, human psychology, anatomy and physiology. I love to bust the myths and explain how to make the most of our awesome selves to achieve optimal levels of health and happiness with sustainable results. I look at how your thoughts, exercise, nutrition, mindset, emotions and hormones integrate to restore your body and minds' natural equilibrium. We get you focused and motivated on an informed path.
Most of us face the many pressures of work, home and family; alongside living in an environment that isn't as 'organic' as we would like. To top it off, we have vast and often unhealthy food options at our finger tips, are regularly short of time, yet hope to find it easy to eat and stay well. It's sometimes an overwhelming challenge to search for quality information amongst the plethora of material out there. It can then take valuable time to discover if that advice is applicable to YOU and your family and has any professional substance.
After becoming a mum over 12 years ago, my interests broadened quickly through dealing with the health challenges of my own children. It soon became evident that there was a whole wealth of knowledge and help available beyond mainstream medicine. I embarked on a very steep learning curve about Child Development, Neurological Development, Nutrition, Digestion, Emotional Balance and Food Intolerances. By this time I had pretty much exhausted myself with a busy work and home life; in fact, much of what I had learned was now applicable to my own health - I was falling apart, physically and emotionally drained. I was also losing the passion for physiotherapy as I felt I had my hands tied practicising within the framework of French legislation.
Whilst I was already very health conscious, the expert tweaks to my nutrition made a huge difference in my energy levels. Further mindset and emotional mastery work enabled me to release stories that were holding me back and draining both my energy and precious time. By combining the exercise, nutrition and mindset, work allowed me to resume the lifestyle I had once feared I had lost. These days I'm happy, energetic and my relationships have all improved considerably.
What's more is that I'm confident that it serves all those around me to follow MY desires.
I deepened my knowledge, training as an Holistic Lifestyle Coach, initially to feel more informed for my family's wellbeing. Gradually I realised that the ability to put my 20 years experience as a Musculoskeletal and Sports physiotherapist and my Pilates knowledge, with the holistic training and the skill of coaching was becoming a very powerful remedy for my patients and clients. This year I'm continuing my passion for this work as I deepen my coaching skills yet further with The Divine Living Academy.
I use only the methods and information that hold up to scientific scrutiny and research.
It is often said that everything happens for a reason; to my surprise it has turned out that my crazed quest for answers to my children's challenges has helped my entire family and given me a whole new perspective on how to help my clients. I've rediscovered the passion I had to help people get back to their best selves and am so much better equipped to do so.
These are what fuel our soul and are a start and end point for many a coaching programme.
I guess it's no coincidence that many of my clients have a love of the outdoors, sports and health.
I'm certainly an outdoors kind of girl so love to pop up the mountains to snowboard, ski and walk in winter and or down to the lake to walk, jog or paddle board in the summer. I had a vision, in fact it's the only reason I went back to England to University after a gap year in France, that one day I would live in the French Alps, with my own practice, with my own family. I'm fortunate enough to be living that dream and we do indeed live at the foot of the French Alps by Lake Geneva.
Originally trained as a physiotherapist, I've always believed that prevention is better than the cure. The reality is that people often wait until they are in some kind of pain to take action. These days I don't. I'm a self confessed coach junkie now and wouldn't have been without the wonderful health professionals and coaches who've helped me on my way. It's been an investment in terms of time and money for sure, but the liberation of having a healthy body and mind, living happily and 'on purpose' has been worth every penny for myself and my family. Plus, learning about this stuff happens to be my passion so I just can't help myself!
I've enjoyed a very varied career, attending to the differing needs of children, busy parents, elite athletes, military professionals and highly stressed business executives to name a few. You can read more about that in the Professional Bio below. These days I devote my attention to coaching driven people who range in their aims. At one extreme I have those determined to reach their goals and perform at their best and want to ensure they do so in great shape, with the right mindset and without sacrificing other parts of their lives. In the middle I have those who have a few niggles that are holding them back from doing so. At the other extreme are those who are completely burnt out from the constant pressure. I see it as a continuum. The challenges I often help people overcome are:
After graduating as a Chartered Physiotherapist in the UK in 1997, my business has evolved alongside my passion in Holistic Health and Personal Development. I started my career thinking I would primarily be treating the physical side of the body, but it soon became evident that the body was far more complicated. As patients reveal many things to their physios, I often became involved in their overall wellbeing, offering such skills as counselling and the essentials of nutrition.
My career commenced in the British Health Service (NHS) gaining experience in Neurology, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics, amongst many other areas. Gradually, I began specialising in the treatment of sports injuries in various clinics and teams. Further invaluable experience was then gained working in the British Military (RAF), alongside several highly skilled practitioners. Over this time I completed extensive post-graduate training in a wide range of skills such as Acupuncture, Back Pain Management, Sports Therapy, Energy Therapy and as a Modified Pilates Instructor. I've been privileged to work in several countries including the UK, Australia and France. My practice is now based on the French / Swiss border near Geneva, although with access to quality systems such as Skype, these days I work with people all over the world. Over the last 5 years I've added extensive training in Holistic Therapies including Transformational Life and Business Coaching, Nutrition, Sleep, Hormone management, Mindfulness, Mindset and Psychology.
