Physiotherapy
Supporting you to keep moving!
I can help you relieve pain, heal injuries and get back to moving in the ways you want to, whatever your age or level of desired activity, in the most efficient and time effective way. I’ve worked with thousands of wonderful patients over the 25 years of my practice and each one teaches me something!
I have an absolute passion for the amazingness of the human body and mind and it’s potential to heal. I’ve worked with patients at their lowest ebb in intensive care or post life changing surgery, to elite athletes training to compete at the top of their game. I’ve worked with children to active 80 year olds. Chances are I’ve dealt with your specific musculoskeletal challenge time and time again.
My ethos
I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1997 in the UK and have completed extensive, almost annual post graduate training since to develop a wealth of tools and experience. I'm trained to assess and treat all injuries and pain and liaise with your doctor and other health professionals as required. I was trained and worked in the British NHS before proceeding to work and manage sports injury and spinal clinics in the UK and Australia. Before settling up practice in France I spent several years at the medical centre for officer training as a senior physio in the British Royal Airforce.
My practice has been primarily musculoskeletal, treating such problems as sports injuries, back and neck pain. Gradually my work has become more holistic in nature. These days I find that many of my non-accidental, musculoskeletal clients have issues ranging from high stress to poor nutrition at the origin of their problems. My method is to look at the person as a whole, find the route causes and therefore create efficient, effective and long-term solutions. I’m also trained and practice as a health and performance coach, pilates and yoga teacher.

Specialised Sports Physiotherapy and performance coaching
Prevention is better than the cure....particularly if you love to be active.
Whatever the level, professional, elite or recreational, all sportsmen and women have moments when they're injured or fatigued. I can intervene either at this stage or preferably before the breaking point! I can help to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your current training programme and will accompany you on your journey to complete your first 5k, next half marathon or even Olympic event!
I’ve worked with a variety of sports, in particularly running, horse riding, football, rugby, cycling, gymnastics, downhill and freestyle skiing, tennis and yoga.
My method is to empower you to understand how your body operates and discover exactly what it needs to perform at it's best. A bespoke programme can be designed depending on your needs, goals and current levels of support. If you are injured, you may actually require physiotherapy. We discuss exactly what is preferable for you and may recommend a combination of both. We work together to help you perform at your best, encompassing such elements as nutrition, recovery, mind techniques or whatever else is required.
Do check out further coaching services for an outline of coaching support. This can be completed alongside or separate to physiotherapy.
I ruptured my ACL whilst competing at the World University Games for GB in freestyle skiing. I had to have surgery after this. Sally has been incredible with supporting my recovery physically and mentally. Allowing me to progress with rehab quickly but safely. I had to travel back to England away from where she works but she continued to provide excellent zoom calls to review my progress and support me when I faced challenges.

I’ve worked with Sally since I was about 12 years old, as a member of an intensive football programme I have had various injuries over the years, which Sally has always done a fantastic job of fixing. However it’s not just short-term fixing, but also explaining what stretches, rest and nutrition I need that has really helped me physically.
She doesn’t just help with the physical aspects but has been a brilliant life coach for me as well. When I visited her with my injuries, we would talk about my life and plans and where I was going. She helped me visualise the future I wanted and thanks to my sessions with Sally I’m about to leave home and start studying for my future dream job.
- Benjamin Duborgel, ETG Football Academy, France. University Student, Lyon
Sally has been amazing for me. She has helped me to recover, she's helped me over injuries and with nutrition. She has been very, very helpful with any discipline I've actually come across. I remember at the beginning of last year I was kind of lost with nutrition, because I knew that I would have to change, so she gave me loads of advice. She even gave me the name of a book which helped me alot. Also, she has helped me with recovery through stretching. She has given me techniques that I can use over periods of time. Stretching of course, is one of the most important things in cycling.
The most important part about sports is not actually the training that we do, it's more about the recovery; without that we can't be on form for the next training session, so recovery is an extremely important aspect of my training. She's given me special techniques through stretching, massage, core work and core exercises which have always helped and I'm very thankful for it.

Clinical pilates and yoga
Both pilates and yoga are wonderful re-education tools when used therapeutically in a 1:1 setting or therapist led group class.
Once the essentials are established the principles can be taken and used alone or in a class setting.
These principles can be taught as part of your physiotherapy.

Here’s how the British Chartered Society of Physiotherapy describe what physiotherapists do:
Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability.
They maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease. The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to stay in work while helping them remain independent for as long as possible
Physiotherapy is a science-based profession and takes a ‘whole person’ approach to health and wellbeing, which includes the patient’s general lifestyle. At the core is the patient’s involvement in their own care, through education, awareness, empowerment and participation in their treatment.
You can benefit from physiotherapy at any time in your life. Physiotherapy helps with back pain or sudden injury, managing long-term medical conditions such as asthma and in preparing for childbirth or a sporting event.
