What does this somatic release process involve?
It’s a bespoke blend of techniques from breath work and mediation, to coaching and neurolinguistic programming.
As it’s a sitting or lying down process. It does not have to involve touch from the practitioner hence can be guided from the comfort of your own home via zoom. If you live near Messery, France, you’re welcome to come to my clinic room for an in person experience.
could it help me Heal from a specific diagnosis?
Potentially in a private session. I encourage all my patients and clients to try at least one somatic release session as I have a strong belief in how it works holistically to integrate all the mind body soul elements. For many it becomes the preferred, go to method. It’s always been a worthwhile experience for people experiencing the conditions I mention above - do check out the testimonials for some patient and client words.
I can guide you around if it would be appropriate for another specific diagnosis, simply reach out via e-mail to ask.
DISCAIMER: Group sessions are designed to educate, not treat or cure. Also note, unless you are under my care for physiotherapy, in this context we will share a coaching partnership relationship, meaning I am not the health professional responsible for treating a medical condition. However, you will benefit from my decades of clinical experience and knowledge as a physiotherapist, coach and holistic practitionner.
How exactly does it work?
If you've felt overwhelmed, exhausted or worried recently, you'll know how challenging it can be to get out of that state. Before we know it the worries grow, the overthinking spirals and the problems start to seem insurmountable. Meanwhile behind the scenes, the nervous system gets into a tizzy and the body feels the stress, even if you wouldn't necessarily say you feel stressed. Many of my patients say "I don't feel stressed", yet from their array of symptoms it's obvious their body and nervous system ARE stressed.
I've come to learn that until absolute breaking point, people often don't feel more stressed than usual for 2 main reasons:
- they disconnected from themselves a while ago
- the stressed feeling has become so normalised they felt that way for a long time.
Except it's not normal to feel in a constant state of stress and can’t heal effectively in this state. In fact it’s highly destructive for our body or mind to be in a chronically stressed state. It becomes stuck in an exhausting state of DIS - ease.
We accumulate the loads of life until it seems like one trivial trigger tips us over the edge into a debilitating health crisis such as anxiety, raging perimenopause, burnout, an autoimmune condition or other chronic stress related diagnosis. Yet actually, the build up was there long before. The release process is designed to recalibrate the body, mind and soul. I’m also a big believer that prevention is quicker, easier and less expensive than the cure so in an ideal world, we would all release and reset 1 - 2 times a year to avoid the accumulation!
